Rideau Trail
The Rideau Trail is a 307 KM (main trail) jaunt from Kingston, Ont to Ottawa. It stretches through very dense tree cover, wetlands and even roadways. The trails are all marked with reddish/ orange isosolies triangles headed towards Ottawa and the same triangles with yellow tips at the top if you are oriented towards Kingston. It varies greatly in regards terrain and territories. It passes through a few provencial parks, most notable Frontenac Park (all interior campsites). The trail is maintained by The Rideau Trail Association (RTA) who keeps the trail functioning and maintains the few rustic campsites along the way for throughhikers.
