Point Pelee National Park, Ontario, Canada
Point Pelee National Park is a Canadian national park established in 1918. It occupies a spit of land at the tip of Point Pelee, a peninsula of land formed atop a limestone ridge extending into Lake Erie. This Point is Canada's southernmost point and has a peculiar climate which has allowed for a particular flora and fauna quite including one of Ontario's last stands of Carolinian forest. The area is a pre-eminent destination for birdwatching, and visitors strolling along the boardwalk can see several dozens of varieties of birds in a day. According to Environment Canada, Parks, over 100 species of birds have been sighted in one day.
