Blue Mountain short cut at Stayner

A tip from UpDown magazine, a freebie magazine serving the Blue Mountain area.

This assumes you're coming east toward Collingwood along Highway 26. At Stayner, where the highway turns north at a traffic light, things can get backed up. But you can skip the bottleneck like this:

  • after you pass Sunnidale Corners, but before entering Stayner, you'll come to Simcoe Rd. 7. (There's an abandoned Shell station on the right hand side, just past the Case building on your left side). Turn right onto Simcoe Rd. 7.
  • continue 3 km., to Nottawasaga 27/28. Turn left onto 27/28
  • in a few km. you'll come back to 26. Turn right.
  • continue on in to Blue Mountain as you would have anyway.

Other cool info in the magazine. You can pick it up for free in Collingwood, in shops like Sporting Life.
