Anchoring spots around Toronto Island
There are two good anchor spots around Toronto Island. The two are actually quite close to one another around the eastern gap of the island.
The first is off Ward's Island Beach. This is a great spot to anchor on a beautful day since you can easily swim into the beach or use your dinghy to get ashore. The water is 18-25 feet deep starting about 40-50 meters off the beach. You can expect to find other boats anchored here but generally not until noon or after.
The second spot is actually home to a small marina but with plenty of room for day sailers. This spot is marked on the google map associated with this article. The water depth here is about 25 feet. This is a great spot for an overnight anchor (better then the first one mentioned above) since you're quite protected from wind and waves in this cove.
This spot is home to many tall trees that are filled with large birds. Even though you have a great view of the city you feel as though you're 100 miles away.
