Paddler's Guide to Happy Camping

This is Kevin Callan's blog about his trips, his (mis-)adventures, and his favourite gear.

T-shirt Slogans Wanted

I just received an email from an outdoor clothing company - Outdoor Research - asking for unique T-shirt slogans. They asked a bunch of outdoor people and they've received lots of entries. But I noticed that there were no canoe-related ones. I sent a few (I Paddle There I Am, Be Canadian - Make Love in a Canoe, I Love Portaging) but there has to be better ones. Any ideas??? I'll send a free book to any one that gets chosen!

well i like the t-shirt ideas you expressed kevin...my favorite would be " save the canadian wilderness" in white letters on the back of a red t-shirt. the front would in white a caribou by a big tree. i remembered alot of exploits in hunting, camping, fishing at many of the wisconsin[some minnesota]state parks my travels were extensive including the times i noted in my profile. i may write a book.i have real-life tales to tell about nature i believe people would be interested in. thanks again kevin..i can tell your top notch explorer for sure. if i was only younger i'd join your
group of canoers. yours in nature, michael camp

Hey Kevin,

I always liked "Go where the Rocks Aren't " and "Keep the Open Side Up". You have to include a canoeing image with the slogan for it to make sense.
Take it easy,

A couple of ideas for t-shirts: "Canoe tripping 101: Paddle, Portage, Repeat." Another is "Follow the bow of your canoe and you will never be lost".

These are great. I especially like "Stern Women...we bow to no one." I'm sending them all to OR and will let you know if we win the logo contest.
