The mess that errupts from the gear test
The mess of new gear waiting to be tested for explore's gear guide, part of the May issue.
As promised here is a picture and a few words to help you understand the state of my gear room. At this time of year – right in the middle of gear guide testing and review writing – the place is a mess of shoes, boots, packs, tents and sleeping bags. There’s a mountain of boxes blocking my bouldering wall. The mess spreads through the house to my office, which looks like a bomb went off in a gear store. Plus there are catalogues, press releases and look books everywhere.
It helps that I have to ship a lot of it to explore HQ for photography. I’ve started to clean it up to sort through everything and sift through all the boxes to find lost items. And now, just as I wrap up testing and reviewing, I am already looking ahead to the next issue. I can’t wait for the boxes to start arriving!
