Currently, we're in the middle of a 46 day old transit strike. I've been among the more fortunate in that I have been minimally affected by it (some have lost their jobs or were unable to go to school this semester). But I'm always bunking at someone's house so that I'm walking distance from wherever I need to go (primarily school)... This means that I'm never home and far away from all that I love, namely the forest and my skis or snowshoes. I haven't had a chance to get outdoors for a couple weeks now and it's quite depressing. Outside is what gets me through winter. I can't wait for the strike to be over... but even once a contract is signed, it will take months for buses to be back with full service. Which means winter will be over... which means that it will have been a long, crappy winter.

This sucks! I need to get outside!

To be fair, I can skate to school, which is kinda cool.
