Mikey, Johnny Boy and I, (Brisey), are determined to paddle as much of Lake Ontario as we can on day trips. One of Our favourites is putting in at the Bond Head beach just south of Newcastle. We almost always paddle east toward Cobourg. The Lake is usually very clean here and the clay cliffs are quite dramatic. We see lots of bird life - gulls, loons, cormorant and cliff swallows. In the spring the carp are huge and abundant. Kind of scary to see them dart under the boat.
This weekend we will stick close to home and paddle out of the Whitby harbour. From here it's about an hour paddle to Corbett Creek to the east or Lynde Creek to the west. I'm not sure which way we'll go on Sunday. It all depends on the weather. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post.
I saw your photo album about your trip to Georgian Bay. Beautiful shots! Looks like it was a great trip.
