About: “Jason Murphy is a Toronto writer, traveler and lawyer. He lives alternately out of a briefcase and a backpack.”
Interests: You know those maps that are mostly green, so rippled with topo lines that they look like they were printed on sandstone and only verified by aerial or satellite surveys after the 1980's? I like those places. But there's also something deeply attractive about finding an adventure in your hometown, or on that trail near the house that you've hiked a dozen times before. Maybe you'll finally talk to the old man who lives in the cabin near the trailhead or maybe you'll get around to portaging your canoe down to that little creek that runs by your house. Tweaking old favourites and exploring our backyards can be as rewarding as a trip to the Yukon. But go to the Yukon too.
